Second Browser Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 29, 2026
Second Browser (“Second Browser,” “we,” “us,” “our,” or “the App”) respects your privacy and is committed to handling your information responsibly and transparently. This Privacy Policy explains how information may be accessed, used, processed, stored, and protected when you use Second Browser, as well as the choices and rights available to you.
Second Browser is a mobile web browser that provides basic browsing and utility features. Depending on the features available in the version you use, these may include web browsing and search, voice search, QR code scanning, tab management, bookmarks, browsing history, private browsing, file-related tools, cleaning tools, weather information, news or content access, and notification-based shortcuts.
We follow the principle of data minimization and aim to access or process only the information reasonably necessary to provide the functions you choose to use.
The current version of Second Browser does not integrate third-party advertising, analytics, attribution, or crash-reporting SDKs. We do not sell your personal or sensitive user data.
1. Information We May Process
The information processed by Second Browser depends on the features you choose to use. Some information is stored locally on your device, while certain online functions require information to be transmitted over the Internet in order to complete your request.
1.1 Web Browsing and Search
When you use Second Browser to visit a website, perform a search, or request online content, information necessary to complete your request may be transmitted over the Internet.
This information may include:
- website addresses or URLs you enter;
- search terms you submit;
- network requests necessary to retrieve webpages; and
- technical information necessary to communicate with websites and online services.
This transmission is necessary for a browser to retrieve and display the online content you request.
When you access a third-party website, search engine, or online service, that third party may independently receive and process information in accordance with its own privacy policy and terms. Second Browser does not control the privacy practices of third-party websites or online services.
1.2 Browsing History, Bookmarks, Tabs, and Browser Preferences
Second Browser may store certain browser information locally on your device in order to provide standard browser functions.
Depending on the features you use, this information may include:
- browsing history;
- bookmarks;
- open tabs;
- recently visited pages;
- browser settings and preferences; and
- other information necessary to maintain your browser session.
This information may be used to allow you to reopen webpages, restore tabs, view browsing history, access saved bookmarks, and maintain your selected browser settings.
Where this information is stored locally, Second Browser does not upload it to third-party advertising or analytics platforms for advertising, analytics, or attribution purposes.
You may delete relevant browser data through the functions provided by the App or through your device settings, where applicable.
1.3 Private Browsing
Second Browser may provide a private browsing mode.
When you use private browsing, the App is designed not to retain certain local browsing information, such as the browsing history generated during that private browsing session, after the relevant private session is closed.
Private browsing does not make you anonymous on the Internet. Websites you visit, search providers, Internet service providers, network administrators, and other online services may still receive or observe information relating to your online activity.
1.4 Voice Search and Microphone Access
If you choose to use Voice Search, Second Browser may request permission to access your device's microphone.
Microphone access is used only as necessary to receive your voice input for the Voice Search function. Microphone permission is not required for ordinary text searches or general web browsing.
Voice Search is not intended to continuously access or record audio in the background.
You may deny microphone permission or revoke previously granted permission through your Android system settings. If you deny or revoke this permission, Voice Search may not function, but features that do not depend on microphone access can continue to be used.
1.5 QR Code Scanning and Camera Access
If you choose to use the QR code scanning feature, Second Browser may request permission to access your device's camera.
Camera access is used to detect and read QR codes through the camera view. The camera permission is not required for ordinary web browsing and is not intended to be used for unrelated purposes.
You may deny camera permission or revoke previously granted permission through your Android system settings. If you deny or revoke this permission, QR code scanning may not function, while features that do not require camera access can continue to be used.
1.6 Files and Storage
Second Browser may provide file-related and storage management functions.
When you actively use these features, the App may access files or storage information necessary to perform the operation you request, subject to Android's applicable permissions and storage access mechanisms.
Such access may be used to:
- display files available to you;
- open or manage files selected by you;
- identify files relevant to a user-initiated file management or cleaning operation;
- display relevant storage information; or
- perform another file operation explicitly requested by you.
File access is used to provide the function requested by you. We do not use file access for the purpose of collecting unrelated personal content.
Where supported by Android, Second Browser may use system file pickers, scoped storage, or other platform-provided mechanisms to limit access to files or storage locations relevant to the requested function.
1.7 Cleaning and Device Utility Functions
When you actively use cleaning or other device utility functions, Second Browser may process limited device or storage information necessary to provide the requested function.
For example, the App may identify cache, temporary files, storage usage, or other information relevant to a cleaning operation initiated by you.
Such information is used to display relevant results or perform actions requested by you.
These functions are not intended to secretly monitor your activities in other applications or collect personal content unrelated to the function you requested.
1.8 Weather Information and IP-Based Approximate Location
Second Browser may provide weather information based on your approximate geographic area.
For this purpose, Second Browser does not request Android location permission and does not access your device's GPS or precise location.
When communicating with a weather service, your IP address may be used to infer an approximate geographic area so that locally relevant weather information can be returned.
IP-based location generally identifies an approximate area and is not intended to determine your precise physical location.
Information necessary to retrieve weather results may be transmitted to the relevant weather service as part of the weather request.
1.9 News and Online Content
Second Browser may provide access to news, stories, or other online content.
When you choose to view such content, network requests necessary to retrieve the requested content may be sent to the relevant content source or online service.
Third-party websites or content providers accessed through the App may process information according to their own privacy policies. Second Browser does not control the independent privacy practices of those third parties.
1.10 Foreground Service and Persistent Notifications
Second Browser may use an Android foreground service to support certain ongoing and user-visible browser and utility functions.
When the foreground service is active, Android may display a persistent notification in the notification area.
Depending on the functions available in the current version, the persistent notification may display information or provide quick access to features such as:
- Quick Search;
- news or content;
- cleaning tools; and
- weather information.
The foreground service and persistent notification are used to keep relevant user-facing functions available and accessible as permitted by the Android operating system.
Use of the foreground service does not by itself give Second Browser access to unrelated personal information. We do not use the foreground service to monitor the content of other applications.
You may manage notification permissions and applicable notification settings through your Android system settings. Disabling notifications may affect the visibility or availability of notification-based features.
2. Permissions Used by Second Browser
Second Browser may request certain Android permissions only when they are necessary to provide functions available in the App.
Depending on your Android version and the features you choose to use, these may include:
Microphone: Used when you choose to use Voice Search.
Camera: Used when you choose to scan a QR code.
Files or Storage Access: Used where necessary for file-related or user-initiated cleaning functions, subject to Android's applicable storage access mechanisms.
Notifications: Used to display notifications and persistent notifications and to provide information or quick access to features such as search, news, cleaning tools, and weather.
Foreground Service: Used to support ongoing, user-visible functions associated with persistent notifications and applicable browser or utility features.
Second Browser does not request Android location permission for weather information. Weather information is based on an approximate geographic area derived from the network/IP address as described in this Privacy Policy.
Requesting a permission does not mean that Second Browser continuously accesses the corresponding information.
Where Android provides permission controls, you can choose whether to grant a requested permission and can revoke previously granted permissions through your device settings.
If you deny or revoke a permission, the feature requiring that permission may not function properly. Features unrelated to that permission can continue to be used where technically possible.
3. How We Use Information
Information accessed or processed through Second Browser is used only as reasonably necessary to:
- provide web browsing and search functions;
- retrieve websites and online content requested by you;
- provide Voice Search when you choose to use it;
- scan QR codes when requested by you;
- maintain local browser functions such as tabs, bookmarks, browsing history, and preferences;
- provide private browsing;
- provide file and cleaning functions initiated by you;
- provide locally relevant weather information;
- provide news or other online content requested by you;
- operate user-visible foreground service and notification functions;
- maintain the security and normal operation of the App;
- prevent misuse or abuse of the App; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not use a permission granted for one function for an unrelated purpose without appropriate disclosure and, where required by applicable law, your consent.
4. Advertising, Analytics, Attribution, and Tracking
The current version of Second Browser does not provide third-party advertising.
The current version of Second Browser does not integrate third-party advertising, analytics, attribution, or crash-reporting SDKs.
We do not use such SDKs to:
- create advertising profiles;
- provide personalized advertisements;
- track users across third-party applications for advertising purposes;
- measure advertising attribution; or
- collect App usage data for third-party analytics purposes.
We do not sell your personal or sensitive user data.
If these practices materially change in a future version, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any additional disclosures required by applicable law or platform policies.
5. How Information May Be Shared or Transmitted
We do not sell your personal information.
Information may be transmitted or disclosed only where reasonably necessary to provide a function you request, operate the App, or comply with applicable legal obligations.
5.1 Websites, Search Engines, and Online Services
When you access a website, submit a search, or use another online service through Second Browser, information necessary to complete your request is transmitted to the relevant website, search provider, or online service.
These third parties operate independently and may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.
5.2 Functional Service Providers
Certain online functions may require communication with an external service provider.
For example, weather requests may communicate with a weather service, and news or other online content may require communication with the relevant content service.
Information transmitted in these circumstances is limited to what is reasonably necessary to provide the requested function.
5.3 Legal and Security Requirements
We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or valid governmental requests.
We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, security, or integrity of users, Second Browser, or others.
5.4 Business Transfers
If the business associated with Second Browser is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction where permitted by applicable law.
Any personal information involved in such a transaction will remain subject to applicable legal protections.
6. Local Data Storage and Retention
Certain information may be stored locally on your device to provide browser functions.
This may include:
- browsing history;
- bookmarks;
- open tabs;
- browser settings and preferences; and
- other locally stored information required for App functionality.
Depending on the type of information, locally stored data may remain on your device until:
- you delete it using a function provided by Second Browser;
- you clear Second Browser's storage or App data through Android system settings;
- you uninstall Second Browser; or
- the information is automatically removed as part of the normal operation of the relevant feature.
Second Browser does not use third-party advertising, analytics, attribution, or crash-reporting SDKs to upload locally stored browser information for those purposes.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information handled by Second Browser against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
Where information must be transmitted over a network to provide an online function, appropriate secure transmission methods are used where applicable.
However, no electronic transmission or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
You are also responsible for appropriately protecting your device, network connection, and credentials used to access third-party websites or online services.
8. Your Choices and Controls
You have control over many types of information and permissions used by Second Browser.
Depending on your device and the features available in the App, you may:
- grant or deny requested Android permissions;
- revoke previously granted permissions through Android system settings;
- delete browsing history;
- remove bookmarks;
- close or remove tabs;
- clear applicable browser data;
- use private browsing;
- manage notification permissions and notification settings;
- clear Second Browser's App data through Android system settings; or
- uninstall Second Browser.
If a permission is optional and you choose not to grant it, only the function that depends on that permission should be affected where technically possible.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your country or region, applicable privacy laws may provide you with certain rights regarding your personal information.
These rights may include the right to request information about the processing of your personal information and, where applicable, to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or other actions permitted by law.
Many types of information used by Second Browser are stored locally and can be controlled directly through the App or your Android device.
For privacy requests that cannot be completed directly through the App or your device, you may contact us using the contact information provided at the end of this Privacy Policy.
We may take reasonable steps to verify a request where necessary to protect users and prevent unauthorized access to information.
10. Account and Data Deletion
The current version of Second Browser does not require you to create a Second Browser account to use its basic functions.
Accordingly, there is no Second Browser account that you need to delete.
Locally stored browser and App data can be deleted, as applicable, by:
- using the relevant deletion or clearing functions available within Second Browser;
- clearing Second Browser's App data through Android system settings; or
- uninstalling Second Browser.
If an account system is introduced in a future version, we will provide appropriate account and associated data deletion mechanisms as required by applicable law and platform requirements.
11. Children's Privacy
Second Browser is a general-purpose web browser and is not specifically designed for or directed to children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
Because Second Browser can be used to access the open Internet, websites and online services accessed through the App may contain content or apply privacy practices that are outside our control.
Parents and guardians should supervise children's Internet use and use appropriate device, account, network, or platform parental controls where necessary.
If we become aware that personal information from a child has been processed in violation of applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to address the situation as required by applicable law.
12. Third-Party Websites and Services
Second Browser allows you to access websites, search engines, content providers, and other online services operated by third parties.
This Privacy Policy applies to Second Browser. It does not govern the independent privacy practices of third-party websites or services that you choose to access through the App.
Third-party websites and services may use cookies, account information, tracking technologies, or other technologies in accordance with their own policies.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies and terms of third-party services before providing personal information to them.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party websites and services that we do not control.
13. International Data Processing
When you access websites or online services through Second Browser, information necessary to complete your request may be transmitted to service providers or websites located in countries or regions other than your own.
Where we are responsible for a transfer of personal information across borders, appropriate measures will be taken where required by applicable law.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Second Browser, applicable laws, platform requirements, or our information practices.
If we make material changes, we will update the effective date of this Privacy Policy and provide additional notice where required by applicable law.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
